400 W route this morning.  Started out slow at 7:40 but picked it up over the run as I got warmed up.  Topped out at a 6:33 mile.  Most were around 7 though.  Did some scraping last night and the legs felt better today.  Still some soreness to overcome, but I still have 5 days.

Looking good for Ogden...what is your time goal, 2:40ish?

From Cody on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 17:56:47

Thanks Jeff-

Sweetness = 2:40

Pretty Happy = 2:42

Good Run = 2:45

Crappy > 2:45

We'll see how it goes...

Great goals. I may run with you guys (Kory as well, right?) for the first bit to keep a decent pace and then try to pick it up for a 2:35ish. You guys thinking of going out around 5:50ish or will you go slower than that?

From Cody D on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 18:33:24

I am planning on going out around 6ish. I want to go out EASY and then hammer the last 8...hopefully. You will probably want to go faster. However, there will be a pretty decent group all with slightly different game plans. We'll have to see how it shapes up.

Look for Chad, Walter, Kory, Me and maybe more..all to be around 2:40. I wouldn't bet against you staying with Clyde the whole way either though. You may think about that....

From jtshad on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 18:36:12

I have thought about trying to stay with the 2:30 guys (Clyde, Sasha, etc.) but am not sure if that would burn me out too much for the second half. I don't really want to be in no-man's land in between running too much of it solo. Ah, gotta love the indecision that sets in during taper madness.

From Jon on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 19:47:24

When in doubt, go out slow! That's my opinion! [editor's note- Jon is just making excuses for why he will be doing 6:30's for most of the race]

Nice picture!

A scrape a day will keep the soreness away.

Remember you are all welcome to come pace me the last couple of miles after you finish:)))))

I think Jon has a good game plan. But I hope Ogden brings sweetness for everyone!

From Cody on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 21:48:57

Yeah, last year Sasha came and ran me in then did the same for numerous other runners. I tried not to pass out.

Looking forward to it....
