Bad News:  I didn't get in the Lottery for the St George Marathon... Bummer

General Aerobic run on my Providence Hills loop.  I had some gravity assisted and gravity impeaded miles, but overall, I beat the 7:00 guy.

Total Time: 57:17 (6:59)

Ave Hr: 159

Good News:  It turns out that the list I read was incomplete.  I did get in!  Sub 2:40 training starts June 1.

I'm sorry Cody. That sucks! I think the system they have now needs some work-to say the least. I think it should be open to anyone who can run a sub 3hr marathon or even lets say Boston standards of a 3:10. Then if you have people being left out they would be those who really don't care to begin with. Those who are running 5hr plus marathons should be the big group who should be sweeting it come lottery time. That's really frustrating for me.

From Paul Petersen on Tue, May 08, 2007 at 10:24:59

Cody, run sub-2:50 at Ogden, and then contact St. George, telling them it's your goal to break 2:40 there. They may let you in. "Ask and ye shall receive"

From Andy on Tue, May 08, 2007 at 10:45:49

Don't give up on the lottery yet. They only had 3,200 people listed in the results. They pulled the link off the home page and are fixing the results now.

Sweet! I still have a shot, one way or another...

From Cody on Tue, May 08, 2007 at 12:00:43

I MADE IT IN!!!

The Official results are now up and I made it in. All right!

You made it too Andy!

Great!

From Dustin on Tue, May 08, 2007 at 12:47:30

Great News, where did you see the list at? I still haven't decided on the full or half marathon at Ogden

From Cody on Tue, May 08, 2007 at 12:55:10

Dustin,

I saw the "partial" list on the marathon website. Right after that they updated the list to a PDF of all runners who are registered.

After seeing your last race in Hurricane, I think you can do the full without too many problems. Up to you..

Glad you got in down here. There could be some great times posted this year!

From Superfly on Tue, May 08, 2007 at 13:55:39

Good to hear the final result.

From Brent on Tue, May 08, 2007 at 23:24:55

Cody, glad you got in. Based on your training, good shot at a PR. I am not sure how I would respond on superfly's comment about a 5 hour marathoners not caring. Hum! Sheehan would have much to say.
