Small workout this morning.  I ran the Providence hills loop adding a bit at the top to maximize the hills.  The goal today was to hit the steep hills hard.  Both the ups and downs.  The flat sections were supposed to be at 7 min pace. I went 7:11 (warmup-flat), 6:41 flat, 7:14 slight up, 7:50 (killer uphill - easily a PR for this mile), .5 at 8:08 pace.  That put me at the start of Providence canyon.  Once there, I immediately turned around and focused on flying down the hill with the legs feeling like rubber.  I went 5:41, 5:38, 6:34 (slight down), 6:37 (flat), 6:41 (flat), .5 at 6:45 pace.  That is a lot of numbers, but I don't care what you think.  I felt really good about my leg turnover on the downhills and also being able to push myself on the ups.  This is my attempt to get faster leg turnover (by running downhill).

You don't care what I think??? I thought we had something special!

Do you know how many strides/minute you take running up and down hill?

From Cody on Wed, Sep 19, 2007 at 10:57:26

Sorry Jon - I just done care.

I have no idea my stride rate. I didn't count. Today, I was focusing on getting enough oxygen to the brain. Maybe next time I will count.

From Jon on Wed, Sep 19, 2007 at 11:37:50

No, knowing you, you should definitely keep working on the oxygen to the brain...

Just kidding.

Cody do you know if Paul and Dan are planning on staying at the cabin on Friday night? James said him and his dad might? I'm just trying to get a head count.

From Paul Petersen on Wed, Sep 19, 2007 at 12:52:47

Dustin, I am staying with Clyde.

From Cody on Wed, Sep 19, 2007 at 13:36:51

Dan has a time share for that night that he is staying at so he is out.

I favor no one... every man, woman, and child for themselves.

Very nice hilly work-out this will make you excel on the hill portions in STG. Nice training and dedication.

Cody when we talked in Logan, Utah you mentioned two web sites where you can find cheap shoes?

From cody on Thu, Sep 20, 2007 at 09:56:17

Kory -

I think you might have been talking to someone else about the shoes. I am not aware of which websites you are referring to. Maybe James, he seems to find good deals.

From wheakory on Thu, Sep 20, 2007 at 12:52:28

I think your right I will ask him. See what old age does to you. You can't remember who you talk to.
