17 FLAT miles on the South Platte River Trail.  I haven't run a run this flat on a Saturday for at least 6 months.  So, instead of hills I focused on speed and maintaining a good tempo.  An hour for the 8.5 miles out and 57:25 for the return trip.  It might have been a bit faster but I didn't carry water and man was I thirsty.  I started to worry for the last 5 miles.  Not good.

why the flat?...when there are so many great hills to climb here!! How long are you in town?

Yes, I have to agree. I can understand flat if you were in Kansas. But you were in Denver!

I wanted to drive to the mtns and hook up with you aaron but time/plans didn't allow for it. Too bad I was staying way out in the plains and was too far from the mountains to take advantage. Kind of ironic...and sad. I am home now, until next year.

I'm sure you did, if I know you it was painful to have to be so close and yet so far away from untapped single track. Sounds like a whirlwind trip, I know how that goes. Sounds like you've been crazy busy the last week or so between working 14 hour days, driving 2 full days, and in between needing to make time for family for a couple days. Good luck at mid-mountain this week!
