I finally gave in and bought myself a road bike. I am so excited! I got to ride it today and it is fast. I bought it used. I still don't have proper shoes, so I went in my running shoes today. I biked up to the Quad via the Blvd working pretty hard. 3.6 miles in 13 min (16+mph). Then I ran on the Quad doing laps in the grass. 3 miles in 23:10 (7:43) 156. Then jumped back on the bike and flew down 4th north and on home. 3.86 miles in 11:00 (counting waiting at stop lights and stop signs) (21+mph). I hit 36mph down the hill not really trying. Fun stuff.

Don't worry, I won't put my biking mileage on the blog so you purists won't freak out.

 PM: 2 miles with Beth pushing the kids in the stroller.  Felt very tired.

Biked to the Aquatic Center - Pool Ran for 45 mins - 2 min on 30 sec off (lots of reps). Biked home - Dropped off the bike - Ran 2 miles (7:00 then 6:45) in 13:45. I got a little carried away. I was putting similar effort into the run as I was pool running and it got me going too fast. Foot is feeling good. I plan on continuing my ramp-up in miles. I will run some more again this evening.

Got out with Beth and the kids.  We ran out to the end of the Planet Walk and back.  Beth wasn't feeling well so she cut it short.  I am sure the heat contributed.

AM: Pool running for 45 mins (convert to 3 miles). 2 min on 30sec off. Followed by 3.5 miles of running to end of planet walk and back. I felt like I was moving pretty good. Still out of shape, but getting better. Still ramping up slowly...

PM:  Ran 5 easy miles with Jon.  Great to have some company again.  Same old 5 miler on the Planet Walk.  This concludes the best training day I have had in a month.  Lets hope it wasn't too much.

This morning I biked up to the start of the Logan Peak Trail Race. I watched Drew and Jon take off up the mountain. Good luck guys. Paul was helping direct the runners so I joined him. Afterward, we ran on the Logan River trail to the end of the single track and back. Nice and easy. We did dip below 7 min pace on the way down. Felt good to get out and run. After the run, I biked home passing all the MS-100 riders. To their credit, they were going the other direction though. I got some funny looks. "You are going the wrong way" kind of looks.

PM: Late 4 miler untimed.  Foot is feeling great today.
